The stumps
Count, size including root flare, visible condition and the agreed grinding depth. Several stumps are listed individually within the proposal.
SUMMIT / STUMP GRINDING
Stump grinding for homeowners, businesses and managed properties. We assess individual or grouped stumps, agree on the grinding depth, and make the chip handling clear before work.
Residential & commercial · Defined depth & finish · Smyrna & West Atlanta
REMOVE THE OBSTACLE. DEFINE THE FINISH.
From a stump in the backyard to several across a commercial property, the setting matters as much as the size. Access, nearby features, ground conditions and your plans for the space all shape a useful grinding plan.
Summit assesses the stump or group of stumps and quotes the agreed work. Grinding depth, the treatment of the remaining material and any separately included removal are decided before the job is scheduled.
Grinding does not automatically include complete root extraction, regrading, topsoil, seeding or full lawn restoration. Any additional finishing is identified separately.
WHAT SHAPES THE PROPOSAL
A stump quote needs more than one close-up. The site and the agreed result determine the work.
Count, size including root flare, visible condition and the agreed grinding depth. Several stumps are listed individually within the proposal.
Machine access, slope, ground condition, walls, fences and nearby infrastructure. Known utilities and private lines are reviewed before work.
Where the material will remain or be placed, whether removal is included and what surface condition is expected at handoff.
A BETTER FIRST LOOK
For a stump in your yard or on a commercial site, show both the stump and the route to it. A wider view often answers the questions a close-up cannot.
One clear photo of every stump, with an approximate diameter or a safely placed size reference. Include the flare where it meets the ground.
Step back to show nearby structures, fences, planting, hard surfaces and the space around the stump.
Show gates, narrow passages and any slope. Include the clear width of the narrowest point if you can measure it safely.
Include the address, how many stumps are involved, known irrigation or private utilities nearby, and your plans for the area after grinding.
BEFORE THE WORK
The final preparation instructions follow the site assessment and accepted scope.
Make sure the requested stumps and property boundaries are clear. Tell us about nearby utilities, irrigation or other known buried features.
Discuss gates, pets, stored items and obstacles along the proposed machine route. Access and utility requirements are resolved before work begins.
Confirm where chips will remain or be placed and whether any removal is included. Avoid assuming the site will be ready for turf or construction unless that finish is expressly scoped.
BEFORE WE GET STARTED
Yes. Stump grinding is available for homeowners, businesses and managed properties. Whether it is one stump in your yard or several across a site, we assess the stumps, equipment access, depth and chip handling before quoting.
No. Stump grinding addresses the agreed stump area and depth. Complete root extraction, excavation and ground restoration are separate tasks and are not automatically included.
Yes. Include the count, locations and a photograph of each stump. Access and conditions may differ between areas, so every stump is identified in the scope.
The proposal states the agreed chip handling. Leaving material, moving it to a defined location or including removal creates different scopes and costs.
We need to review the clear route, working space and nearby features. Share photographs and any safely measured gate width; access is confirmed for the equipment and the actual site.
Tell us the intended next use before the quote. Grinding alone does not establish that the area is ready for planting, foundations, construction or a finished lawn. The depth and any further work must match the intended use.
